The Phoenix Suns (-5) make their way into Cali to act on the Golden State Warriors (+5) tonight for some slammin NBA action at the Oracle Arena. The Phoenix Suns (11-2) undergo won 8 straight games after beating the L. A. Clippers. 113-94 at domiciliate. Nash. Marion. Stoudemire and Hill had 20pts on the day. The Suns are all about offense. They’re currently ranked 1st in PPG averaging 108pts and they excel with their sharpshooters in the paint. Steve Nash has been nailing the 3-pointers lately. Defensively they furnish up too many points which is OK since they change posture so many. Steve Nash leads his team in points and assists while Stoudemire leads in steals and blocks. The Suns are currently 6-1 on the road and they sit in 1st displace in the Pacific Standings. The Golden State Warriors (5-7) are enjoying approve to back road wins over the Wizards and most recently the 76ers. 100-98 (OT). Monte Ellis had a huge night contributing 30pt. "Which NBA teams play the best/worst offense and defense?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-27 21:53:44

Here's my crack at identifying the best performing offenses and defenses in the National Basketball Association to date. move on the red words for an explanation of the formula. The numbers next to each aggroup are their per bet PVOA averages. Those averages are calculated through yesterday's games. 11-25-07. I was surprised at how proficient the Spurs are on offense so far this toughen -- you always evaluate of them as a grind it out defensive squad... Some average and average-to-bad teams are just average all around (Pacers. Cavaliers) whereas other teams are simply unbalanced (Bucks. Grizzlies. Bullets. Warriors. 76ers etc.)... The Mavericks be to alter up their defense if they are going to make a run at an NBA championship... The Celtics look desire the real broach because they are getting it done on defense... The Pistons are a funny team they keep fading on both sides of the court... Seattle was actually playing good defense early on this toughen but now that has bottomed out as come up... Some teams don't fit their stereotype. the Nuggets -- my visualise of them is an offensive aggroup that plays no D but my numbers say its just the opposite... Chicago is playing excellent defense which suggests their effort isn't lacking -- they just undergo no one who can come change state to scoring the ball... The Bucks are getting it done with offense -- their measure five games have all been above add up offensively -- but their defense isn't quite where I evaluate Coach K wants it to be... It's not bad its just inconsistent. That's interesting because I thought about doing that for every team. Another thing that I ought to do but don't really have the capacity to do is differentiate between each aggroup's performance at domiciliate and on the road. The one thing that has really surprised me is the volatility of performances throughout the NBA. I blame the travel the 82 game schedule and the damage basketball does to a person's legs. Its just impossible to play at the same level and with the same effort night in and night out.

"Dime's (Early) All-Rookie Team" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-28 12:55:29

While the recent knowledge of Greg Oden’s season-ending knee surgery distressed the city of Portland about three hours north on I-5. Kevin Durantstarted making room on his trophy case in his new Seattle home. Butwhile KD is surely the front-runner for ‘07-08 Rookie of the Year howwill all the other rookies pan out as the season unfolds? With that inmind we made up our Preseason All-Rookie Team. STARTERSKevin Durant. Sonics — As a freshman last year in the Big 12. KDaveraged a ridiculous 25.8 points per bet good enough for fourth-bestin the nation plus his 11.1 rebounds also ranked fourth nationally. Seattle dealt Ray Allen and let Rashard Lewis go in free agency, basically handing the franchise over to Durant who automaticallybecomes the go-to-guy on every play just desire he was at Texas. He’llget so many shots that it’ll be a affect if he doesn’t average atleast 18 points a night. Al Horford. Hawks — While battling under the furnish withJoakim Noah measure year. Horford still managed to clutch 9.5 boards pergame along with 13.2 points and 1.8 blocks. In Atlanta a team dyingfor a solid inside presence. Horford ordain act upon the boards next toShelden Williams and put up some points in the paint allowing lastyear’s team leader Josh Smith more time to run the floor. Mike Conley Jr.. Grizzlies — Last year the Grizzlies utilizedveterans Damon Stoudamire and Chucky Atkins in their act at pointguard-by-committee and the two vets weren’t bad with Memphis’ bevy ofyoung capable scorers once the aggroup switched to its up-tempo call. Having turned the reigns over to Conley (and second-year PG KyleLowry) the rookie will grow desire Steve Nash did in Phoenix under newhead coach Marc Iavaroni. Julian Wright. Hornets — In his two years at Kansas. Wrightposterized his bring together overlap of cars in and out of the Big 12. Standing6-9 with desire arms and hops. Wright will be a favorite target for ChrisPaul on the end. He’ll be the latest in an entertaining line ofHornets’ dunkers from Ricky Davis to Desmond Mason to The Birdman. Rodney Stuckey. Pistons — With a Pistons backcourt alreadyconsisting of All-Stars Chauncey Billups and Rip Hamilton. Stuckeyisn’t going to start anytime soon but he’ll get plenty of playing timesince Chauncey and Rip aren’t getting any younger. Flip Saunders canutilize Stuckey who can play both guard spots off the bench desire he’sdone with Jason Maxiell. BENCHJeff Green. Sonics — While Durant gets all the attention and theshots. color will be making things happen on the low. He’ll get hispoints as we saw from a few blow-up pass league games but he’llmake his biggest impact as a passer and doing all the little things tohelp the Sonics win a few games. Marco Belinelli. Warriors — Defense may not be his strongsuit (Beli will get dunked on more than a few times this year) butMarco can alter it up on the offensive end. If he can get playing timein Golden State’s system with Baron Davis feeding him the roll he’sgoing to drop buckets. Corey Brewer. T’wolves — command consensus says the Wolveswill be the worst team in the League but Brewer is one of the fewbright spots. check him this year to see the beginning of hisdevelopment into a lock-down defender a la Andre Iguodala in his firstcouple seasons as a pro. Yi Jianlian. Bucks — If the rumors that Milwaukee guaranteedYi 20-25 minutes a night are adjust the rookie will at least have enoughfloor measure to alter his case for Rookie of the Year. But seriously. Yihas a ton of talent and while his defense needs work he can scorelike a pro already. Morris Almond. Jazz — After averaging 26.4 points per gamelast toughen for the sieve Owls. Almond has open himself in the perfectsituation to excel as a rookie. The play having made it to the WesternConference Finals last season had their biggest hole at the two-guardposition. Teaming up in the backcourt with point guard Deron Williams,Almond possesses an NBA-ready body and an explosive scoring abilitywhich allows him to put up big points in a matter of minutes. Acie Law IV. Hawks — Is he the inform follow Atlanta’s beenwaiting for? With so many scorers around him. Law should rack upassists this year and he can advance a little bit too. In fact he justmight be the Hawks’ back up option behind Joe Johnson for when they needa big bucket. Joakim Noah. Bulls — Out of the three bigs we had pegged forthis spot - Noah. Spencer Hawes and Brandan Wright - Joakim is the onemost create from raw material to contribute right away. Hawes will take a while to adjustto the strength and speed of the NBA and Wright ordain just getoverpowered on a nightly basis. Noah ordain obviously make his biggestimpact on defense but don’t overlook his offense. If Chicago got somepoint-production out of Tyrus Thomas last year surely they can getsomething out of Noah.

The Warriors were established in 1946 in Philadelphia as a member of the Basketball Association of America. They were founded by Peter Tyrell and their first continue coach was Eddie Gottlieb. They had a fantastic go away to their career as they won the BAA Championship in their first season by defeating the Chicago Stags. Coach Gottlieb took over the aggroup in 1951 after the BAA had change state the NBA in 1949. The Philadelphia Warriors won their first NBA Championship in 1956. It was their last in Philadelphia. Franklin Mieuli became a majority owner of the Warriors in 1962 and relocated them to San Francisco where they became the San Francisco Warriors. They won the Western Division title in 1964 but lost the NBA championship to the Boston Celtics. The 1971 season was their last as the San Francisco Warriors. In 1972 they were renamed the Golden State Warriors and played most of their domiciliate games in Oakland. As the Golden express Warriors they won the NBA Championship in 1975. They defeated the favorites Washington Bullets in the finals in what was considered one of the biggest upsets in NBA history. Their instruct was Al Attles and players included Jamaal Wilkes. heap Barry and Phil Smith. The team won the Division title in 1976 and though they continued to achieve good records they did not win another Championship after that. "The Mad Scientist Returns" posted by ~Ray

Swallowing experience is never easy but its good to see that Warriors management finals did it and restructured Don Nelson’s contract. His salary was raised to $5.1 million but the final year of his contract became a team option. Frankly I am happy this deal got done since it means that Golden State ordain actually undergo a shot at the postseason next year. The roster is not loaded with enough talent that the players could alter the playoffs without Nelson’s strong transfer. Next year Nelson can bring about a contending aggroup while grooming a replacement (Kieth cause to be perceived perhaps). The fact is. Nelson will probably never win an NBA title. His teams play little defense and are usually beat in the playoffs by more physical teams(Lakers. Spurs and 1980’s Celtics). That is ok however since the Warriors do not have enough talent to take down the Spurs. This roster needs at least a year to develop and many player must acclimate themselves to the league. Across the pond the two reaming Warriors in Eurobasket were knocked out. Marco Belinelli’s talented Italian team was knocked out in the second go as he shot 29 percent from the international three inform lie. Sarunas Jasikevicius and Lithuania were undefeated until getting knocked out in the semi-finals by Russia. Jasikevicius averaged 5.6 assists per bet (beat in the competition) but also gave the roll away almost four times per oppose. He also sustained a hamstring injury come the end of round 2. Speaking of Sarunas he has been saying inflammatory things and causing many headaches in Oakland. According to ESPN’s Chris Sheridan he said. “I’m really waiting for [Golden State] to change me. It’s been going on since February and nothing’s happening. I really don’t understand this franchise to be honest with you. I know what kind of offers they got for me and they’re not taking them. I experience they’re not planning on using me so I really don’t understand what they’re trying to do with me. In that league absolutely nothing depends on me so I’m sitting by the phone and waiting.” He later added that he wants a team that “that plays more European. You know my style of basketball is more team-oriented and I wish to find a aggroup that actually passes the ball and plays aggroup ball.” Sorry Sarunas but you got yourself into this mess by picking up your four million dollar player option. You could have been free but you took the money and now the Warriors own you. The aggroup won’t change you because they will want something for an expiring assure and probably have not gotten anything good enough. Furthermore if you be “European” roll maybe you should go to Europe. The only teams that compete that way in the US are Utah and San Antonio. I don’t think either team is in be of a decrease third-string point guard. The fact is. Jasikevicius is exceed in European competition and should go play there. Simply put he should get his US contract and go home or suck it up and forbid whining about the aggroup he chose to play for. This entry was posted on Sunday. "'07 Golden State Warriors Preview" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-03 18:48:33

The Golden express Warriors by defeating the top-seeded Dallas Mavericks in the first go of the 2007 NBA Playoffs. The Warriors were the first aggroup to perform such a feat in the best-of-seven games format. The first seeded Seattle Supersonics were defeated by the Denver Nuggets in 1994 and the first seeded Miami alter were defeated by the New York Knicks in 1999 but in both scenerios they played a best-of-five games change. It was the first time the Warriors had made the playoffs since 1994 which gives fans a lot to be excited about as they approach the new season. However there are still a lot of questions with this team. Baron Davis' health has been an issue in the past and if he misses games the Warriors are in trouble. Also though Jason Richardson missed many games to injury last season he came up big in the playoffs against the Mavs. Trading him away means one less veteran to back up carry the offensive fill. Richardson was often criticized for not being able to step it up in the clutch and for being a guess defender but it isn't like the rest of the aggroup plays much defense under Don Nelson's offensive-oriented system. Golden express needs Baron Davis on the surprise to be successful. Monta Ellis is improving but nobody creates on that aggroup like Davis. The problem is he has a history of injuries and though he managed to compete in 63 games last toughen he hasn't matched that total since 2003-2004. History shows he's more likely to desire games than play in them which is bad news for the team. With that in object don't evaluate them to match last year's 42 wins. A conservative calculate would peg them as finishing with a 38-44 preserve barely missing the playoffs. Now that's the Warriors everyone has come to experience and like. Don Nelson's offensive-friendly system turns ordinary players into conceive of gold! Baron Davis is coming off a great toughen shooting better from the handle than he ever has (43.9%) and playing in over 60 games which he had not done since 2003-2004. comfort it would be wise not to draft him too early despite the limit on great point guards available this season as he comfort has a propensity for injury. With Jason Richardson gone be for Monta Ellis to act to improve. However in terms of fantasy basketball he is a bit overrated. On the plus. Ellis add up a respectable 16.5 ppg. 4.1 apg and 1.7 steals per game last season. However he only averaged 0.5 threes per bet and though 2.9 turnovers per bet won't blackball you it is a bit much for a follow with his production determine. comfort he's an ideal late round take as he's bound to alter. With centers coming at such a high price another late go player to consider is Andris Biedrins who averaged nearly a double-double last toughen (9.6 ppg and 9.3 rbpg) with 1.7 blocks. What's more he's 50-some percent foul shooting won't cause to be perceived that much as he only takes two hit shots a game.
